Atari did it right when Asteroids launched and the Asteroids Gunner app for iPhone and iPad is keeping the Asteroids fans happy. Controls are super easy with left and right side ship and shooting guidance and the asteroids themselves are just as chaotic and dangerous as ever. Stick Skater is an absolute blast of an iphone app game. I loved playing Tony Hawk games as a kid (remember the N64 version?) so when I found Stick Skater I had high hopes of pretending to be a skater kid via my iphone and although it’s a stick figure, I was hooked! Stick Skater has two game modes, one for easy control where you push the jump button at the right time and random tricks get inserted and the second mode where you have complete control of what you do in the air. The Simpsons Arcade app is a new beat-em-up game released by EA for the iPhone and iTouch. It’s pretty close to the classic Simpsons game in regards to the style, controls and game play but there are some variations in regards to other aspects of the game. The Simpsons arcade app is obviously played with the use of a joystick and two buttons that are set up like most of the other EA games. Ragdoll Blaster iPhone App Review

Backflip Studios has made quite possibly the best physics game on the iphone in the Ragdoll Blaster app. The goal is to shoot your ragdoll at the target and try to use as few ragdolls as possible. You move from level to level trying to figure out how to get your ragdoll to hit the target and the app keeps track of how many ragdolls were required. Did I mention you blast them from a canon? It’s hilariously entertaining to watch the ragdolls hit walls, pile up and slide around various obstacles when you just want one to hit the target. Sometimes the target moves, sometimes you have to get the target in the right position and sometimes you just turn off the app because you can’t stand it anymore. Full App Review >>

The idea is pretty simple, plants shoot things at Zombies and your job is to stop the Zombies from getting to your front door. Angry Birds is an angle attack game with very angry birds that you control and launch at pigs that are hiding amongst wooden planks, cement walls and even under certain a few layers of both. The only way to get back at those pigs for stealing the eggs is to attack them with….angry birds. Of course it’s a matter of flicking the birds via the slingshot and letting them do their thing. Crazy Tanks is one of those apps that maximizes what an iphone or itouch can do. It’s a tilting, tapping, blow-them-up type of game that frustrates and engages at the same time. Each bomb shot by a tank ricochets off of walls, pillars and anything else it comes in touch with until it blows up.
