iVideoCamera Review – Video Camera for iPhone 3G

FiVideoCamera screenshotinally the dream of having a Video Camera on the iPhone 3G is a reality.  iVideoCamera, priced at $.99 may just be the best thing to happen to the iPhone (without jailbreaking it) since the App store was introduced.  I realize that’s a big statement but hopefully you can feel the excitement.  The good news is that this app is worth the hype and a must for anyone with a 3G (or iTouch).

iVideoCamera is easy to use and even offers a wi-fi sharing mode that let’s you download and share your stored videos via wi-fi by simply enabling wi-fi sharing on your phone and typing in the given ip address. The iVideoCamera app allows you to quickly take video, save video (via an export to camera roll feature), watch the video and share the video with anyone.  With one push the share button you can instantly move your new video to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Vimeo, TwelveSeconds or basic email of the video.  The quality is as good or better than any other cell phone camera out there and the sound quality is fantastic.

I still don’t necessarily understand why there needs to be an app for video, as Apple should have made that no-brainer move when the 3G first launched but if they had would I have bought a $.99 app to add video to the 3G?

Below is the actual screenshot from my computer after enabling iVideoCamera Wi-Fi sharing and going to the shared ip address.  A simple download video button removes a lot of wires:)
